Convenience Store

There are several convenience stores in NUFS. The largest convenience store is “Hills Market”, which is located in 1 floor K building. It is open from 9:00 am to 19:00 pm. Many students buy food, cup noodles and snacks. And the store may have the most kind of daily necessaries.
In lunch time, students make a long queue to buy their lunch. Sandwiches, onigiri, and bento(Japanese lunch box) are usually bought. Some pots and microwave ovens are equipped, so we can make food hot. But usually it is crowded in lunch time, so some times it is difficult to use these equipments.
Outside the store, there are some tables and benches and we can have lunch there. Some tables are under the roof and they can prevent us from rain and sunburn. But in summer and winter season, more students likely to spend a time in inside rooms because of Japanese harsh weather.
Free time or after class, students(especially girls) like to buy snacks there. This is the only store which sells foreign snacks in NUFS, but students usually buy Japanese snacks which are cheaper and familiar. These days, it is getting hotter and hotter, so many students more likely to buy ice creams.

First Floor of NUFS library

There are many books, magazines, newspapers, dictionaries and various kinds of publications in the NUFS, Nagaya University of Foreign Studies' library. From outside, it looks like that picture above. It is in a front part of NUFS and near Communication Plaza. You can find it easily.

Let me introduce the first floor of it.

For international students, it has a great variety of Japanese books and magazines.
These are very useful for learning Japanese and Japanese culture and stuff. As I read magazines, it was so interesting. And also books for learning Japanese stuff were easy to understand even for me, non-native English speaker. I really recommend read these books. Of course I want to read them more if I have time.

Of course, famous English newspaper and magazines are there, too. You never miss getting information of your own country. Also some computers are available to search books you want.

Many Japanese students are using it very often to read, study and do their homework. I want international students to use it more because I hardly see them even though I use it everyweek.
You are so welcomed to come, look around, read and make the best use of it.
